Good Friday – What does it mean to you?
Good Friday is the day that we come together to “celebrate” the pain and suffering that our Christ Jesus went through. It is truly amazing how important this day really is. During the Easter season, we find ourselves focusing on the the excitment of Jesus’ resurection. Without the death of Christ on this Friday, we wouldn’t be able to have the even greater celebration of his resurection.
In reading the scripture this morning and recounting the events around His death, a couple of things stood out to me. The death of Christ really was of God and His love / hate emotions. Seeing how fast the thousands of people went from the celebration of God’s goodness during the passover to such an angry mob looking for Christ’s death. The death really wasn’t just that of a regular death, but one of the most painful deaths a person could suffer. It was of God’s hate for sin and His absolute love for us that brought about this event.
Sin is so ugly in God’s eyes that He needed to do something drastic to save us. The song East to West by Casting Crowns shows what Christ’s death does for us. Take a couple of minutes and watch the video below and listen to the words.
Take some time today and remember the cross and God’s Love / Hate relationship with you and sin.

Thanks for including such a great song on your blog! I too am overwhelmed by the anguish Christ experienced on the cross. Most of us who go through some sort of trial on earth are fortunate to have the loving support of at least one special person in his life. But Jesus not only endured physical torture while He was being overcome by all of our sins but He endured it alone separated from His Heavenly Father.
