My parents decided to redo their whole front yard and back yard this year and see how much they could complete in the month of June. This project has grown faster than I ever could imagined. All of the sod is gone, a foot of dirt is gone, a brick border is going in, new top soil, a sprinkler system, a brick patio, the works. When it’s all said and done, it will look real nice and they should be happy with the final results.

A friend I know though a neighbor got involved to do the bobcat work. He came through and did a great job. Yesterday was a long day for us working on the yard as we had about 15 minor projects going on at once. My neighbor made an effort to be there for about 5 hours or so even though he really had no connection. Not only did he show up and help, he worked hard. Moving soil, leveling, packing gravel. These are not easy tasks for anyone, but to do it with a smile and being glad to be there was an awesome sight to see.

The Go-Giver book is a fantastic illustration of how so many people need to rethink the way that we do life. Who are we out to serve? If we are really only serving our selves, are we really going to have the greatest results?

I have seen the last year or so living the neighborhood that we do and getting to know those around us, the people that are giving the most and helping each other complete projects and caring for those in need are actually the happiest.

I really could keep going on about this as there have been so many examples of this that I have seen and experienced in the last while. If you are really going to be a success or want to make the most of this live, we really need to look out for the needs of others around us.
